All Husky strip doors are made using universal steel hardware with pre-manufactured pegs placed at 2" centers intended to hang our 2" punched hole center pvc material as well as material punched at 1" centers. Husky Universal Steel Hardware is ready for installation to the wall face above the opening, or from the bottom of the door jamb or lintel. Ribbed - For heavy traffic and air flow restriction our standard and USDA strip material can be ordered with interlocking ribs providing superior insulation of temperature controlled environments. Ribbed strips are also an optimal solution for high traffic doors protecting the face of the strip from abrasions inflicted by forklift and personnel traffic. Ribbed and USDA ribbed strip material is available in 8", 12", and 16" widths for door sizes ranging up to 25 feet tall.
Standard - For light duty applications standard strip door material provides a highly transparent barrier for most walk in coolers, doorways, livestock doors, and other miscellaneous applications. Standard PVC strip material is available in widths of 6", 8", 12", 16", and 48".
USDA Low Temp - Ideal for freezer curtains clear PVC strip material designed to remain pliable at temperatures below 32 degrees fahrenheit; this material is essential for applications where USDA accepted material is required. Strips available in 6", 8", 12", and 16" widths.
USDA strip material will stretch if held at temperature above freezing.
Safety Orange - Generally used as a caution strip to signal the driver where the strip door overlaps a wall or obstacle. Strips come in 8", 12", and 16" widths.
Anti-Static - Clear strips formulated to dissipate electricity harmlessly away from personnel or sensitive equipment. Available in 8" or 12" widths.

Amberweld - Specially formulated strips designed to screen out UV and near UV rays from welding and brazing flash protecting personnel and equipment from optical and environmental hazards. Available in 8" and 12" widths.
Strip widths and their typical purposes
6" - Personnel / Light carts - For use in walk through coolers, freezer and doorways with light cart and personnel traffic.
8" - Light Industrial / Agricultural - For interior use with carts, pallet jacks, and light forklift traffic. Okay for small exterior doorways with some air movement and cold storage coolers and freezers.
12" - Industrial - Heavy fork lift / lift truck traffic in docks, doorways and cold storage coolers or freezers. Okay for use in exterior doorways and dock enclosures. Provides good sound protection.
16" - Heavy Industrial - Heavy Duty fork lift or vehicle traffic in large dock, door or crane way openings. Reduces sand, dust, chip and wind penetration. Not intended for use on small walkthrough openings.
Universal Steel Mounting Hardware (USM) - The durable, versatile USM hardware offered by Loading Dock Supply LLC can be used for both surface and in jamb mount styles spanning large and small openings outside/within commercial and agricultural facilities. Our USM's curved steel face plate allows strips to be held firmly without causing the flex and breakage associated with traditional strip door hardware. Constructed with rugged 14 gauge galvanized steel with 1/4" mounting studs (Stainless Steel Hardware available upon request). Face plates are constructed in 12" sections for easy strip replacement. LDS USM is the most popular style of mounting hardware on the market due to its rounded edges and easy strip replacement capabilities.
Face of wall Mount - Also called "Flat Wall Mount" or "Surface Mount" method provides the best possible seal extending past the opening on either side by a minimum of 3". The superior seal is achieved by utilizing the concave nature of strip material mounting them so the strips on either end are curved towards the wall. As an added feature strips are cut at 4" longer than the actual opening (on Face of Wall Mount applications) allowing the strips to be cut to the level of the floor once the material has acclimated to your facilities environment.
When considering attachment methods, keep in mind that a flat wall mount will overlap your opening.
Rolling Strip Door Hardware
Quickly and easily slide your door out of the way with rolling track hardware. Rolling hardware is a useful component for docks when higher visibility is needed or when load balance is sensitive to the weight of strip material. This extension can either be split between the two sides or made to roll its full length to one side.

What is the purpose of strip overlap, and how much is necessary to maximize the economy of the door?
Personnel - Strip doors with human or animal traffic should utilize smaller strips with a less overlap (when applicable). Typically 6" or 8" strip widths with 33%-67% overlaps are optimal for these purposes. Keep in mind smaller strips give less wind resistance, cannot be used on tall doorways, and will not hold up well under heavy motorized traffic.
Hand Trucks and Pallet Jacks - Medium to Heavy traffic including personnel, pallet trucks, and hand trucks. Keep in mind when considering pallet trucks are pulled by personnel wider strips are heavier and may be a hindrance to personnel pushing or pulling product through the aperture. If a door is expecting this type of traffic consider 8" material with 25% or 50% overlap.
Forklift Traffic - Forklift traffic generally involves frequent movement with higher levels of abuse. When designing a door involving this type of traffic wiser ribbed strips are considered optimal due to their ability to deflect wear away from the majority of the strip face; providing longevity of strip clarity and durability. When considering wider strips keep in mind heavier strips may cause light loads to become displaced or knocked of the load as they move through the door; in this situation consider working with 8" strips if applicable. Reducing overlaps can also be used to overcome this encumbrance. Consider 8" ribbed material with 50% to 100% overlap or 12" ribbed material with 25% to 50% overlap for motorized and heavy traffic conditions.
